CASC Committees

Although CASC committees are formed as needed, there are several standing committees:

• Arts Committee: Provides enriching art experiences with practising artists from the community.
• Education Committee: Plans and conducts forums that deal with educational or school community issues.
• Orientation Committee: Educates parents and staff about the alternative program at Churchill. Takes steps to welcome new families and to involve them in school activities.
• Active & Safe Routes to School Committee: Promotes active transportation - walking and cycling - for all or part of the daily journey to and from school. 
• Playground Committee: Works to create an outside environment that is fun, stimulating, and safe.
• Sports and Active Lifestyle Committee: Increases students' awareness of health and physical fitness. Creates opportunities for students to become involved physical activities.
• Science and Environment Committee: Increases students' awareness of how these areas are related. Creates opportunities for students to become involved in scientific, technological, and environmental issues and activities.
• Volunteer Coordinator Committee: Provides direction and support for the classroom volunteer coordinators.
