Staff Interaction

Our principal works cooperatively with the staff and parents to support and implement our school's philosophy and program. At the beginning of the year, new teachers are buddied with experienced teachers to facilitate orientation.

To ensure that the school's aims and objectives are realized in every area as completely as possible, the principal provides collaborative leadership to the staff. The principal and staff attend regular meetings to discuss matters of policy and programming and to plan the day-to-day activities of the school. Full staff meetings alternate with division meetings (Kindergarten, Primary, and Junior). Parents may attend staff meetings, as the need arises, after consultation with the principal.

Our principal attends regularly scheduled meetings of CASC, its executive, and, as needed, selected committees. Issues, concerns, and ideas of parents and staff, as they affect the school community, are discussed. The principal works with these groups to initiate projects and resolve concerns in a manner consistent with the philosophy of the school, and considers both staff and parent input in all decisions.

In almost all cases, there are staff members who participate in the work of CASC committees. Staff and parents take part in an annual planning session to identify short- and long-term goals for our school.
